Private Half-Day Drawing Trip in Versailles – 1 to 8 persons

Drawing-day trip to Versailles, the city where former French royal residence, Palace of Versailles, is located. In a group of 1 to 8 persons (NB: the price for this day course is by group, not by person. You can share the cost of the excursion with friends, family…). Contact me so that we can check together the possible dates for your excursion.

Depending on your personal organization and wishes, I offer the following options:

Option 1: 1/2 day, afternoon: drawing in the Queen’s Hamlet or in the gardens of the Grand Trianon (everyday but Monday)

• Meeting at 1:00PM at the entrance to the Grand Trianon
• Drawing in the gardens between 1:00PM through 4:00PM
• Estate of Trianon admission ticket: 12 €/person (see here below, prices)

Option 2: 1/2 day, morning or afternoon: drawing in the Palace of Versailles gardens (everyday)

• Meeting at the Grille de la Reine (entrance to the garden located Boulevard de la Reine, 78000 Versailles) at 9:30AM or 1:00PM
• Drawing in the gardens between 9:30AM through 12:30PM, or 1:00PM through 4:00PM
• The admission to the gardens is free, except during the Musical Fountain Shows (June to October). Admission ticket to the gardens during Musical Fountain Shows: 9,50 €/person (see here below, prices)

Option 3 : 1/2 day, morning or afternoon: drawing at the Marché Notre-Dame (the most beautiful outdoor and covered market in the Paris region) in Versailles (everyday but Monday)

• Meeting at the corner between rue de la Pourvoierie and rue du Maréchal Foch, 78000 Versailles at 9:30AM or 1:00PM
• Drawing around the market between 9:30AM through 12:30PM, or 1:00PM through 4:00PM

Prices:

• Groups of 1 to 8 persons : 430 €/group

• This price includes teaching and accompanying by Pauline for 1/2 day. It doesn’t include transportation, meals, drinks, art supplies, insurance, entrance tickets to the Palace of Versailles gardens or to the Estate of Trianon (count 9,50 €/person for the admission ticket to the Palace gardens during Musical Fountain Shows (the rest of the year, admission to the Palace gardens is free); 12 €/person for the admission ticket to the Estate of Trianon).

Transportation from Paris to Versailles:

1/ If you would like to go to Versailles by public transportation:

–        RER train C from Paris (Saint-Michel, Musée d’Orsay, Champ de Mars stations) to the Versailles Château Rive Gauche train station

–        Transilien train line L from Paris Saint-Lazare train station, to Versailles Rive Droite Bd de la Reine train station

–        Count 8 to 10 €/person round trip for the train ticket, and a 20 minutes walk to the Grille de la Reine (entrance to the garden located Boulevard de la Reine, 78000 Versailles).

2/ For a group of 1 to 3 persons: I can meet you outside Versailles train station, and take you to the Estate of Trianon by car. Signing a liability discharge will be required.

Supplies:

The supplies you will need are the following:

• Paper sketchbook (A4/standard photocopy size recommended); watercolor box; small water jar with lid; watercolor paint brush; rag/kitchen paper; pencil; pencil-sharpener; water-resistant black pen (ex: Pigma Micron).

• Optional: penholder, nib and India ink, color pencils, felt pens; folding stool (recommended).

• Think of sunglasses, hats, sunscreen! Warm clothes in the winter. Comfortable walking shoes, water bottle.

Additional information:

• Contact me so that we can check together the possible dates for your excursion.

• Once the date is chosen, you can book online using the calendar. Upon booking, you will receive a booking confirmation. A precise meeting point will be emailed to you.

• In case of rain, we will preferably choose the Queen’s Hamlet, or the Marché Notre-Dame in Versailles. We will draw in sheltered places or at a cafe.

• Plan a cafe and restaurant budget, and the cost of museum tickets, in case of indoor drawing sessions.

• Classes are taught in French and English.

• Children and teenagers under 18 years old can join, provided an accompanying adult joins as well (see FAQs for more details).
