Walls of China
During the three years that I spent in China, I was fascinated at how fast the city (Kunming, capital of Yunnan Province) was absorbing the surrounding countryside. Rural spaces were sold to property developers, who were building walls around still empty parcels. The locals were sometimes clearing themselves a path through the fallen stones, to go around more easily… This work, conducted outdoors in the suburb of Kunming between April and June 2008, was exhibited at the FIAP Jean-Monnet (Paris) in 2009.
