COVID 19

What are the safety precautions available during the courses?

Adults and children ages 6 and above must wear a mask at all time during the class (bring your own mask). Hydroalcoholic solution and soap are at your disposal at the studio to wash your hands upon arriving. The foldable stools that we use to sketch outdoors are disinfected.

Thank you for bringing all your supplies (eraser, pencil-sharpener, water jar…) so that you don’t need to borrow any. Thank you also for not coming to class if you have symptoms or a fever.

Let’s stay creative, and safe!

REGISTRATION/CANCELLATION POLICY

What is the deadline to register for a workshop?

It is possible to register until the last minute, as long as there is availability. In order to be sure to have a place available, it is best to register in advance!

How can I register?

You can register online, directly on the website. Payment is done by credit card, Paypal or check (check is possible if in euros, from a French bank).

What is the cancellation policy?

In case of cancellation by the participant: up to 10 days before the class or workshop date, 50% of the registration fee will be reimbursed. From the 10th day on before the class or workshop date, the registration fees will not be reimbursed.

In case of cancellation by Pauline Fraisse Art & Culture EI, the registration fees will be fully reimbursed, to the credit card the booking was made with.

SUPPLIES

Are supplies included, or should I bring my own supplies?

Supplies are included for children art classes (except for the sketchpad), for school holidays workshops, parent-child classes, and creative birthday parties.

Adult classes: each participant needs to bring their own supplies. A detailed list of supplies will be sent to you upon registration. You can also check the supplies list online, in the course description.

Where can I buy art supplies in Paris?

You can buy art supplies on the website www.paulinefraisse.com, in the “Gift & Goodies” section, up to 3 working days before class. Pauline will bring with her the supplies that you ordered.

Otherwise, the BHV department store, near Hôtel de Ville metro station, has a good selection.

You may also check, near Saint-Germain-des-Prés, a lovely store named Gouache (39 rue du Cherche Midi /corner with 2 rue du Regard 75006 Paris): www.gouache-paris.fr; or else, Sennelier’s historical store (3 Quai Voltaire 75007 Paris): www.magasinsennelier.com/nosmagasins.html

Also, the chain store Rougier & Plé/Graphigro: http://www.rougier-ple.fr/magasins.r.html

Should I bring a folding stool with me? An easel?

For classes taking place at the studio and outdoors, a folding stool will be lent to you.

For workshops that don’t take place at the studio, folding stools are not provided. We usually find benches to sit on. In some neighborhoods and in parks, we sometimes have to sit on the floor. If you are afraid of being uncomfortable, don’t hesitate to bring a folding stool.

Folding stools can be found in art supplies stores, as well as in sports/outdoors equipment stores.

We don’t use easels, in order to move around freely, and sketch in different places.

COURSE ORGANIZATION

How many participants are there in each class?

Depending on the classes, the number of participants is 3 to 6 persons, or 4 to 8 persons.

Can I join the courses if I can’t speak French?

Yes, absolutely. I teach in French and English. If some of the participants can’t speak French, I translate into English!

Can I join the courses if I am a beginner at drawing?

It is possible to join the courses, whatever your drawing or painting skills. There are beginners as well as accomplished artists in the groups. The method works for all of them.

Where do the classes take place?

Watercolor Sketching classes for adults take place at my studio: 7, rue Chevert 75007 Paris (metro La Tour-Maubourg or Ecole Militaire), and outdoors when the weather is suitable.

Children & teenagers classes, Parent-Child workshops take place at my studio: 7, rue Chevert 75007 Paris (metro La Tour-Maubourg or Ecole Militaire).

Travel Sketchbook classes & workshops take place in different neighborhoods in Paris.

My husband, my mother, or a friend are with me: can they stay with me during the class?

No. Out of consideration for the other students, accompanying persons are not authorized to follow the course, unless they registered as well.

I am running late to class: what can I do?

Pauline’s phone number will be sent to you in the registration confirmation document. Hold on to it, and don’t hesitate to call in case you are running late!

However, note that the courses start well on time, and that it is not always easy to find the group once it has moved away from the meeting point.

Does the workshop still take place in case of rain?

Yes, it does: in case of rain or bad weather, we draw at the studio. If it starts raining while we are outside, we continue drawing at a cafe. Plan a cafe budget, as well as warm or waterproof clothes!

LOUVRE

I wish to take a class at the Louvre: is it possible?

Unfortunately, the Louvre Museum doesn’t authorize art classes in the museum anymore.

CHILDREN & TEENAGERS (UNDER 18 YEARS OLD)

Can my child take part in courses outdoors?

For security reasons, I do not take children under 18 years old out on the street, unless they are accompanied by a parent, grandparent or guardian. This person must join the course as well (paying the same fee as the other students).

When accompanied by a parent, grandparent or guardian, children and teenagers can join adult courses taking place at the studio and outdoors.

I otherwise teach children and teenagers on Tuesdays at my studio (7, rue Chevert 75007 Paris, metro La Tour-Maubourg or Ecole Militaire).

These courses cost 25 €/child for a one and a half hour class; or 220 €/child for a personal 10 class pass, valid 4 months.

Groups are 3 to 8 children. Basic supplies are included (except for the sketchbook).

PRESENTS, SURPRISES, EVENTS

I wish to organize a surprise for a friend, a birthday party for children, a special day for my family: does Pauline Fraisse Art & Culture EI offer that kind of thing?

Yes, of course: feel free to contact me! I will be delighted to help you organize an event or a group excursion, and will offer you an appropriate price, according to your project.

To organize a creative birthday party for children, see “Join a class!” on the website!

I wish to offer a class as a present: is it possible to get a gift-certificate?

Yes, absolutely: when booking, let me know that it is for a present, and email me the name, surname and email address of the person you wish to offer the present to. I will email you a gift-certificate with their name on it, that you can print out and give them.

OTHERS

Does Pauline Fraisse Art & Culture EI offer accommodation in Paris?

Unfortunately, Pauline Fraisse Art & Culture EI doesn’t offer accommodation in Paris. If you wish to stay nearby the studio, you may search in the Invalides/Tour Eiffel/Ecole Militaire neighborhood. Saint-Germain des Prés is not far either. Finally, metro line 8 runs fast between the studio and the center of Paris (Champs-Elysées, Concorde, Opéra…).

You may also rent an apartment.
