Art class in Giverny, the town where famous painter Claude Monet used to live and paint. In a group of 1 to 8 persons (NB: the price for this excursion is by group, not by person. You can share the cost of your art course in Giverny with friends, family…). Contact me so that we can check together the possible dates for your excursion.
It is unfortunately not possible anymore to draw in the gardens of the Foundation Claude Monet. Claude Monet’s house and gardens are open to visitors between April through mid-October.
Depending on your personal organization and wishes, I offer the two following options:
1st option: 1/2 day, morning: drawing & painting class in the village
- Possible for a group of 1 to 8 participants, adults and children
- Leaving Paris at 8:00AM
- Sketching in Giverny village from 9:30AM to 12:30PM. We can have lunch together if you wish. After lunch, Pauline travels back to Paris, and you are free to stay longer and visit Monet’s House and Gardens, and the Museum of Impressionisms.
2nd option: 1/2 day, afternoon: drawing & painting class in the village
- Possible for a group of 1 to 4 participants, adults and children
- Leaving Paris at 1:00PM
- Sketching in Giverny village from 2:30PM to 5:30PM. Attention: for this option, a car, minivan or taxi is needed as there are no buses between Giverny and Vernon after 5:30PM.
Excursion prices:
- Groups of 1 to 8 persons : 630 €/group
- This price includes teaching and accompanying by Pauline for 1/2 day. It doesn’t include transportation, meals, drinks, art supplies, insurance, entrance tickets to the museum or to Monet’s house.
How to get from Paris to your art class in Giverny?
1/ For a group of 1 to 3 persons: I can take you from Paris to Giverny by car, for a fee equivalent to 50€/group, and provided you sign a liability discharge. Driving time is approximately 1 hour and a half each way.
2/ Paris-Giverny by public transportation: leaving by train from Gare Saint-Lazare train station at either 8:00AM or 1:00PM + bus from Vernon to Giverny: count 45€/person, round trip. In the evening, after 5:30PM, it is necessary to make a reservation for a taxi from Giverny to Vernon (around 20€/taxi).
3/ Private minivan leaving from Paris: we can ask our partner travel agency, Touring France, for a vehicle with driver (count 500 to 700 € for 1/2 day, including transportation, parking, toll and driver’s meal).
The supplies you will need for your art class in Giverny are the following:
- Paper sketchbook (A4/standard photocopy size recommended); watercolor box; small water jar with lid; watercolor paint brush; rag/kitchen paper; pencil; pencil-sharpener; water-resistant black pen (ex: Pigma Micron).
- Optional: penholder, nib and India ink, color pencils, felt pens; folding stool (recommended).
- Think of sunglasses, hats, sunscreen! Warm clothes in the winter. Comfortable walking shoes, water bottle.

- Once the date is chosen, you can book online. Upon booking, you will receive a booking confirmation. A precise meeting point will be emailed to you.
- In case of rain, we will draw at a cafe and in sheltered places.
- Plan a cafe and restaurant budget, and the cost of museum tickets, in case of indoor drawing sessions.
This art class in Giverny is taught in French and English.
