Sketchbook in perspective — the art of playing with the city
A playful approach to perspective!
Three days to sketch the city of Lucca, fill up a sketchbook, and juggle with the mecanisms of perspective! Through the passages, the successions of ways from where come into view a bell tower, an arch or a nice square, you will draw the architectures, while enjoying the Italian art of living. With its successive layers of history, its finely worked façades, its alleyways discreetly vanishing between two walls, Lucca will enchant you!
We will approach the different aspects of perspective, though various areas of the city.
An occasion to progress on that technical subject, but also to bring back a complete sketchbook on one specific destination, worked on during several days.
3-day course (available in both French and English), in a group of 4 to 8 participants.
(Participants are in charge of their accommodation and plane tickets. Lucca is 20 minutes from Pisa airport by bus. For accommodation, intramural Lucca is convenient: it is easy to walk everywhere. Contact me if you need information).
Each day counts six hours of teaching.
The first day, we draw from 10:00AM to 1:00PM, and 2:00PM to 5:00PM, followed by a drink together.
The two following days, we draw from 9:30AM to 12:30PM, and 1:00PM to 4:00PM: we make a short break for lunch; from 4:00PM on, one can keep drawing, visit, go shopping, have dinner at a restaurant…
You can then choose to stay in Lucca or Pisa for a few more days, or go back.
The teaching focuses on both quality of drawing, and creative layout of the sketchbook. Lucca will inspire you with a sketchbook that is innovative, personal, and full of charm!
The workshop is open to everyone, it is not necessary to know how to draw already. Experience shows that even someone who has never held a pen before gets, through a workshop, to surprise oneself and to produce unexpected pages.
And that those who already have a regular practice of drawing find new possibilities.
The goal is to progress, to sharpen one’s eye, to explore one’s creativity, and to have fun! And to live a unique travel experience, in a city full of art and inspiration.
You will get the opportunity, through this workshop, to test and improve the useful techniques for travel sketchbooking, to discover the hidden facets to your eye, to come back home with a full sketchbook, and with a renewed and freshened eye.
And to enjoy Lucca’s art of living, its squares, narrow streets, walks and numerous cafes!
