Urban sketchbook: “one district, one style”
Multiplying one’s ways to approach the landscape
Three days to explore New York and build a stylish sketchbook, full of ideas, in harmony with the multiple atmospheres of the city.
Each day, a different district and a different graphic approach: to renew one’s techniques, and discover places with a creative eye!
It is also an occasion to bring back a complete sketchbook on one specific destination, worked on during several days.
I lived in New York, and will know how to share with you my passion for this city.
3-day course (available in both French and English), in a group of 4 to 8 participants.
(Participants are in charge of their accommodation and plane tickets. Manhattan and Brooklyn districts are convenient: the subway is easy to use. Contact me if you need information).
Each day counts six hours of teaching.
The first day, we draw from 10:00AM to 1:00PM, and 2:00PM to 5:00PM, followed by a drink together.
The two following days, we draw from 9:30AM to 12:30PM, and 1:00PM to 4:00PM: we make a short break for lunch; from 4:00PM on, one can keep drawing, visit a museum, go shopping, see a musical, have dinner at a restaurant…
You can then choose to stay in NYC for a few more days, or go back.
The teaching focuses on both quality of drawing, and creative layout of the sketchbook. New York offers many possibilities to compose a sketchbook that is innovative, personal, and full of energy!
The workshop is open to everyone, it is not necessary to know how to draw already. Experience shows that even someone who has never held a pen before gets, through a workshop, to surprise oneself and to produce unexpected pages.
And that those who already have a regular practice of drawing find new possibilities.
The goal is to progress, to sharpen one’s eye, to explore one’s creativity, and to have fun! And to live a unique travel experience, in a city full of art and inspiration.
You will get the opportunity, through this workshop, to test and improve the useful techniques for travel sketchbooking, to discover the hidden facets to your eye, to come back home with a full sketchbook, and with a renewed and freshened eye.
And to enjoy New York’s energy, its museums, art galleries, parks and numerous attractions!
